It’s no secret. I love shooting with Pixie. Especially when she lets me experiment haha!
As it was the summer and “warm” it meant shooting at the beach was an option. I didn’t want it to be too hot as I didn’t want anyone to get burnt, but then, no one wants to shoot in the rain, so luckily they’d forecast an overcast grey day, YUS! Or so I thought.
We got down the beach and out comes the sun, normally people would be overjoyed with this concept but shooting in direct sunlight is never fun, it creates harsh shadows and makes the best of us squint even when we’re not directly facing it. Luckily, Pixie is a pro and as per usual worked her magic at making herself look awesome. I on the other hand, did not look so awesome at the end of it. I didn’t prepare for sun and burnt all my back to a crisp – life lesson people, ALWAYS BE PREPARED. Next time I’ll be taking sun cream 😉
We walked a little to find a decent shooting spot and managed to get about 3 different looks with in a fairly small radius. Looking at the images, it could almost be 3 different shoots. I wanted do something a bit magazine fashion-esque as well as something a little darker, then the light portraits were just a bit of fun.
Plus, as is currently the theme with my shoots at the moment, of course I did a little video 😉
I really want to explore and experiment more with my work, I have a few shoots in the pipeline that I’m hoping will help me do that. Keep an eye out.
Don’t forget, if you want to be in front of my lens, just drop me a line. In the meantime, enjoy.
